Malia Obama Celebrates 19th Birthday In Montauk

MONTAUK, NY — Former First Daughter Malia Obama knows the best place to celebrate a birthday in style — Montauk.

Malia spent her 19th birthday celebrating at the Surf Lodge in Montauk, according to a witness at the popular spot.

"She was very mellow and sweet like you would expect. She and her girlfriends had a fun time dancing and desserting," the source said.

According to a report on Pagesix.com, Malia marked her July 4 birthday at the Surf Lodge with friends, and no one was drinking: The group reportedly enjoyed a brownie dessert and candles. According to the post, she was also seen at the Golden Pear in Southampton over her birthday weekend.

Last year, Malia Obama announced her college decision, but with a twist — she announced that she would be waiting a year before starting school.

Like her father, Obama has chosen to attend Cambridge's Harvard University.

“The President and Mrs. Obama announced today that their daughter Malia will attend Harvard University in the fall of 2017 as a member of the Class of 2021. Malia will take a gap year before beginning school,” the White House statement said.
