Montauk Teen Caught With Forged Inspection Sticker: Cops

The teen is facing a felony charge, police say.

AMAGANSETT, NY — A 17-year old Montauk teen was arrested after he was caught with a forged inspection sticker, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, the teen, who was not named due to age, was arrested on Sept. 29 at 8:18 a.m. on Montauk Highway near Abrahams Landing Road in Amagansett and charged with second degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony, police said.

He was driving a 2008 Mitsubishi with the forged inspection sticker on the windshield and it was found to be fraudulent, police said. A DMV check showed that the sticker was originally issued to a 2006 Jeep, police said.

The teen was released on his own recognizance, police said.
