'Taste Of Montauk' Promises Foodies, Fun

MONTAUK, NY — One of Montauk's most eagerly anticipated events is slated to unfold this month.
A dazzling array of Montauk restaurants, East End wineries and craft breweries will gather under one tent for tastings at the sixth annual “Taste of Montauk, to be held on Sunday, July 29, at Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club & Resort; the event is presented by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce.
The event will be held on the resort’s Great Lawn with a beautiful view of Lake Montauk from 6 p.m. to 9 pm. Music will be provided by The Lynn Blue Band.

“Montauk has become a foodie destination, gaining a lot of press attention in recent years,” says Laraine Creegan, the chamber’s executive director. "Montauk has been attracting top restaurateurs and chefs, including outstanding home-grown ones, who love our hamlet to work and play."
Participating eateries include 668 The Gig Shack, Backyard at Sole East, Saltbox, East by Northeast, Tacombi, Montauk Gurney’s Montauk, Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club & Resort, Montauk Shellfish, Ruschmeyer’s, MTK Lobster House, Duryea’s Lobster Deck, Gringo’s Burrito Grill, Muse@ the End, Tauk at Trail’s End, Sloppy Tuna and Last Hope Lagoon. Wineries and breweries include Bedell Cellars, Duck Walk, Martha Clara, Osprey’s Dominion, Cliffton Dry Sparkling Wine-Style Cider, Montauk Brewing Co., and Montauk Hard Label, Creegan said.

Sponsors include Duryea’s Lobster Deck, Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club, Gurney’s Resorts, Sole East, Page Fine Home Service, and Dune Resorts.
Tickets cost $85 in advance, and $95 at the door, if available. All proceeds benefit the Montauk Chamber and its continuing initiatives for the community. Purchase tickets in advance online, on the Chamber's website or by calling 631-668-2428. The proceeds from the event help support the Chamber’s other community events held throughout the year, Creegan said.
