Join us for a special event celebrating William Floyd, with insights from distinguished speakers and engaging activities that highlight our local history and the legacy of America's Founding Fathers.

  • William Floyd Alumni NYSUT 2nd Vice-President Ron Gross will transport attendees back to the Revolutionary War era, focusing on the Mastic Peninsula and exploring the roles of Founding Father William Floyd and War Hero General Nathaniel Woodhull.
  • William Floyd Alumni Suffolk County Deputy Presiding Officer Jim Mazzarella will share his perspectives on these historical figures, drawing connections to the responsibilities and challenges faced by public officials in the 21st century.
  • Participate in the Col. Josiah Smith Chapter NSDAR “Would You Sign” segment, which invites you to reflect on the sacrifices and risks taken by William Floyd and his contemporaries. Consider what it means to pledge your life and honor and then add your own signature to a replica Declaration of Independence.
  • Learn more about the William Floyd Estate and the rich history of the Mastic Peninsula with informational materials available at the event.
