• Mount Vernon residents say they've been without hot water at apartment complex for over a week (news12.com) — Residents at Levister Towers in Mount Vernon say they've gone more than a week without hot water, forcing many to boil water just to bathe. City officials and Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard blame a multimillion-dollar gas debt and unpaid water judgment, and are pressing the owners and state authorities while exploring legal options to restore and protect essential services.
   

• Three Arrested Following Traffic Stop in Mount Vernon; Cocaine, Fraudulent Documents, and U.S. Treasury Check Seized (yonkerstimes.com) — State Police say a traffic stop near Sanford Boulevard and South 3rd Avenue in Mount Vernon led to the seizure of cocaine, fraudulent IDs, and a large U.S. Treasury check. Three men, including one Mount Vernon resident, now face multiple felony drug and forgery charges and are being held for arraignment in Mount Vernon City Court.
   

• Lights, camera, success with SpotsyCTC TV/video production (starexponent.com) — A student film titled "Red Lights" earned Best Experimental Short Film honors at the Mount Vernon Film Festival in New York, adding to several national festival recognitions. While the filmmakers are from SpotsyCTC, their success helps spotlight Mount Vernon's growing role as a host for youth-focused film events and creative talent.
