• Pirate Radio Crackdown Puts New York Property Owners In FCC Crosshairs. (insideradio.com) — Federal regulators have warned a Mount Vernon property owner that an alleged unlicensed FM station traced to a Washington Street building could bring steep daily fines under the PIRATE Act. The FCC is demanding proof the broadcasts have stopped and names of those responsible, with potential penalties in the millions if violations continue. Similar warnings went to owners in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn.
• Con Ed's Scarsdale Pipeline Saga Takes a Troubling Turn (scarsdale10583.com) — A long-delayed high‑pressure gas pipeline meant to run from White Plains through Scarsdale and Eastchester into Mount Vernon remains unfinished and partly uninspected, raising safety and property‑damage concerns across Westchester. Mount Vernon residents should know the line is planned to connect through their city by 2029, even as weld inspections, sewer repairs, and regulatory questions continue to stall progress and frustrate affected homeowners.
