• Youth Basketball Coach Admits Sexually Abusing Preteen Player (patch.com) — Mount Vernon parents are learning that a longtime youth basketball coach has pleaded guilty to repeatedly sexually abusing a girl under 13 in the city between late 2023 and early 2024. Prosecutors say 63-year-old Dwayne Murray faces 18 years in prison, must register as a sex offender, and may have additional victims, urging anyone with information in Mount Vernon to contact authorities.
