• Two TAKE 5 Tickets Hit Top Prize in Mount Vernon and Whitestone (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A TAKE 5 lottery ticket sold at United Corner on Gramatan Avenue in Mount Vernon hit Tuesday night's top prize, worth nearly $15,000 to the winner. Another winning ticket was sold in Whitestone, with both sharing the Sept. 29 evening jackpot. Winners have up to a year to claim their prizes from the New York Lottery.
   

• Westchester Corrections Officer from Yonkers Arrested for Official Misconduct (yonkerstimes.com) — A Mount Vernon resident working as a Westchester County correction officer has been charged with official misconduct alongside a Yonkers colleague, following an investigation into their conduct at the county jail in Valhalla. Both were arrested, placed on administrative leave, and will appear in Mount Pleasant Justice Court. Officials stressed that most correction officers remain committed professionals while this probe continues.
