2 Nanuet Boys Report Possible Luring Incidents

The boys involved reacted properly by telling their parents, Clarkstown police said.

The Clarkstown Police Department recently responded to two separate reports of a possible luring of a child. Both incidents occurred in the Nanuet area at about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 17.

The first occurred on Carrie Lane, the second on North Edsall Avenue.

In both incidents the children, both 8-year-old boys, reported seeing a man driving a vehicle, described as a white SUV possibly with a roof rack. The man slowed down and waved at the boy and then drove away. The driver of the SUV is described as a white male Hispanic.

Each boy reacted properly by immediately going back into their homes and telling their parents, police said. An extensive check of the area was conducted and nothing was found out of the ordinary.

Clarkstown police are asking that any resident seeing a vehicle matching that description or any other suspicious activity, to immediately call 845-639-5800.

The Nanuet School District has issued an alert on its website.

Police want to ensure the community that they feel this is an isolated incident—no others have been reported.

Still, they ask everyone to remain vigilant.
