Accused Burglar Evades Cops - But Not For Long
A search and surveillance proved his undoing.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A Spring Valley man who tried to avoid detectives by jumping out a window away now faces more charges, Sheriff Louis Falco III announced.
Sheriff’s Office detectives attempted to locate Mark Anthony Jones at 69 Robert Pitt Drive in Monsey at 9:30 a.m. Jones had active warrants for Burglary 3 rd (D Felony) and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (B Felony).
But he fled from detectives by jumping out of a first-floor window.

That kicked off an area search by foot patrols, aviation and canines from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and the Westchester County Police. Officers also conducted field interviews and obtained surveillance footage which led investigators to an apartment where Jones was hiding.
The 29-year-old was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary 2 nd (C Felony), Escape 2 nd (E Felony) and Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor), in addition to the felony charges on the original warrant.

Jones was sent to the Rockland County Correctional Facility without bail.
