Aisling Center Honors
Aisling Irish Community Center is honoring three well deserving Honorees; from Pelham we are honoring Clive Anderson, Pelham Funeral Home

Aisling Irish Community center honors three outstanding individuals in our community this year. Clive J. Anderson is one of our 2017 honorees. Clive is originally from Co Cork and the owner of Pelham Funeral Home. For Clive, funeral service is not a “job,” but merely a calling to serve others in their time of need. The recipient of several awards, Clive has been recognized by the Irish Echo “40 under 40” for his contributions to the Irish community. Clive is a member of The IBO, The Ireland Funds, Friendly Sons of Patrick, Rotary and the Danny Fund. He believes in giving back to the community and stands united with his Irish brothers & sisters in America.
The Aisling Irish Community Center is a community outreach center which was established in 1996 to provide assistance to the wave of Irish immigrants arriving in the Bronx, Yonkers, Queens and the entire tristate area. Over the years, the role of the Center has evolved into a fully-fledged social services organization catering not only to the Irish and Irish-American population, but also to the community at large. Aisling Center is one of the largest Irish immigrant resource centers in the tristate area and the main provider of services for the elderly Irish and Irish-American communities of Yonkers and Woodlawn. Our senior program includes weekly activities such as a book club, card playing, chair yoga, arts & crafts, etc. We also provide a free lunch for up to 40 seniors every Tuesday.
We provide free confidential and professional counseling; Irish arts and culture program which includes classes in Irish language, music and dance; assistance with employment & accommodation; Computer Classes; karate for kids; art classes and acting classes for children, Yoga, Boot Camp, Pilates, Parent & Toddler group, and weekly AA meetings. Our educational, cultural and welfare programs/services benefit over 900 people each week with particular emphasis on the more vulnerable people, with our weekly feeding program, delivering food to the homeless at numerous locations throughout New York city.
