Bicyclist Struck By Minivan On Stormy Tuesday

The accident happened around dusk.

CHESTNUT RIDGE, NY — A bicyclist was struck by a minivan Tuesday evening on Chestnut Ridge Road. Ramapo police were called to the scene near Alpine Court at about 6:35 p.m.

The bicyclist, a 40 year old man from Spring Valley, was struck by a Chestnut Ridge resident who was operating a 2004 Honda Odyssey. The bicyclist was transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition.

The driver, 33, remained at the scene. There are no criminal charges or summonses issued at this time. The accident is still under investigation by the Ramapo Accident Investigation Unit at this time.
