“It feels good (to have the budget pass) after all of our hard work, especially this year with everything on our plate,” said Board President Anne Byrne. “I really want to thank the community of Nanuet for coming out and voting and passing that budget.”

“When Mrs. Loretta Raimone sends out her letters on Sept. 1 and everyone sees (about) 24 percent on their tax increase, they’ll get me,” said Scott Walters. “She’s the receiver of taxes in Clarkstown.”

“I probably won’t run again,” said Robert Schucker. “I do not know, but it’s one of those things where you have to reevaluate and keep moving forward.”

Current Board Members Ron Hansen and Sarah Chauncey were glad to see that the budget passed.

“The budget was very easily passed. That’s a nice thing,” said Hansen. “We worked very hard on the budget. I didn’t think it would be that decisive.”

Peter Whalen, Charleen Caulk and Mary Noberini were not able to attend last night’s voting results.
