UPDATE: Search for Nanuet Robber Unsuccessful

After an intensive search of the area the suspect was not able to be located, Clarkstown police said on Facebook.

“ The safety hold at the schools was lifted. We do ask the public to remain alert and call 845-639-5800 if you see anyone matching the description.”

At approximately 10:26 AM the Clarkstown Police Department responded to the area of Main St. and Church St. in Nanuet for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

Responding units interviewed the male victim who stated that an unknown male pushed him to the ground and took his bag that he was holding. We are currently searching the area for a suspect described as a male wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

Nanuet Schools have been notified and are on a safety hold.

There was no weapon reported to have been used in the robbery. Updates will be made as they become available. Please avoid the area as the search is being conducted.
