Brooklyn Man Indicted on Counterfeit Money Charge

He bought a vacuum cleaner at the Target at the Palisades Mall, the DA said.

Brooklyn resident Shoyn Johnson, 25, was sentenced Dec. 9 before Rockland County Court Judge James Hubert to a state prison term of 1 1/2 to 3 years after pleading guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 1st Degree.

District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said that on Feb. 12 at about 6:10 pm, Johnson used counterfeit money to pay for a Dyson vacuum at the Target in the Palisades Center Mall.

He also had 46 additional counterfeit $20 bills on him, Zugibe said.
