Burglary At Warehouse In Nanuet, 1 Arrested: Clarkstown Police

At least one warehouse burglary gang has been known to carry guns, police said.

NANUET, NY — A Philadelphian is under arrest after Clarkstown police responded to a burglary in progress at the UPS warehouse on Murray Hill Drive, rescuing a security guard who had called it in.

Clarkstown's Critical Incident Response Team was called in because it was possible the burglars were a crew known to carry firearms and have violent encounters, Clarkstown Police Det. Norman Peters said.

The first officers found a dark-colored sedan in the parking lot and detained the driver. Then police entered the building and extricated the security guard who had barricaded himself in, and searched the building unsuccessfully. The other burglars had fled.
