In order to strengthen the region's blood supply, Rockland Paramedic Services (RPS) is partnering with the New York Blood Center (NYBC) to host a community blood drive on Thursday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at RPS headquarters, located at 17 Squadron Boulevard, Suite 410, New City. Community members are encouraged to register in advance at <a href="https://nybc.org/sponsor" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">nybc.org/sponsor</a> using sponsor code 73494.

Beth Am Temple, 60 E Madison Ave, Pearl River, NY, 10965

Doors open at 5:40 pm and play starts at 7:30 pm. Bingo games are open to the public.
Packages are priced at $42, $35 and $25 plus $3 admission. They contain nine games with other games available for purchase including Pull Tabs, Quickies, two progressive bonanza jackpots and nightly specials. Games end at approximately 10 pm.
All game boards are paper with electronic verification. Pre-packaged snacks, beverages and bingo supplies are available for purchase.

Bingo is played in Beth Am Temple’s climate-controlled, ground-level social hall which has cushioned seating. The room is brightly lit and has its own sound system. The building is handicapped accessible with a well-lit parking lot.

BridgeMusik opens its 2026 Summer Festival — We the Music: Celebrating 250 Years of American Voices — with a bold, fully staged production of Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale, paired with the world premiere of Dedication to Faust by Thomas Cabaniss.
Blending music, theater, and dance, this visually compelling theatrical production reimagines Stravinsky’s iconic work for contemporary audiences. The Soldier’s Tale tells the story of a soldier who trades his violin to the Devil in exchange for wealth, exploring timeless themes of temptation, fate, and the true cost of ambition.
Directed by Malena Dayen and conducted by David Rosenmeyer, the production features the BridgeMusik Festival Ensemble together with an outstanding cast of New York theater and dance artists:

Beth Am Temple holds casual Fahrbrengen gatherings for summer shabbats on Friday, August 7 and September 4 at 5:30 pm in the Social Hall. The informal, non-prayer book meetings for all ages include songs, noshes, learning and discussion in the Social Hall. Kaddish will be recited. The public is welcome to join this 50-minute, informal Shabbat program.
