Take the GPS off the dashboard: Clarkstown police urge residents not to leave valuable possessions visible in their cars
A rash of smash-and-grab car break-ins continued in Nanuet on Monday, with three cars parked at a fitness center damaged, according to Clarkstown police.
With the latest thefts, town police renewered their call for residents not to leave valuable items in plain sight inside their vehicles while they are left unattended in parking lots.
"People are leaving their GPS units on the dashboard and that is making them targets," said Clarkstown Sgt. Harry Baumann.
