Clarkstown Extends Mandatory Business Closure

Local businesses, excluding gas stations and motels, shall be closed from 4:30 p.m. on October 29, 2012 until 6 p.m. on October 30, 2012, unless the Order is rescinded prior to that time.

 

Supervisor Alexander Gromack called for a state of emergency for Clarkstown at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. 

The Order provides that vehicular traffic on Town of Clarkstown Roads shall be restricted to essential emergency vehicles and personnel.  Local businesses, excluding gas stations and motels, shall be closed from 4:30 p.m. on October 29, 2012 until 6 p.m. on October 30, 2012, unless the Order is rescinded prior to that time.

The Order is intended to protect the lives and property of residents and to allow emergency personnel to efficiently respond to emergencies.

The Town issued a State of Emergency commencing at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.  The State of Emergency will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, unless rescinded prior to that time
