Deanna Kerins Lost 23 Pounds At Peak Physique

Nanuet, N.Y. (September 16th, 2019) – Deanna Kerins is twenty one years old and have struggled with her weight since she was in middle school. "I kept putting off losing the weight due to school, work, and my personal life. Last month, I came to the realization that now is the time to lose the weight! I deserve this for myself, health, and well being. I have tried almost every gym in Rockland County and nothing compares to Peak Physique Training, Bootcamp and Boxing!" said Deanna Kerins.

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing?

I chose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing because of Coach Jamie. I have always enjoyed fitness, but in the past I felt I was missing crucial elements at other gyms. The moment I stepped into Peak, I felt the support, guidance, and encouragement in the gym. I have never felt so comfortable and supported in a gym before! Peak Physique is unlike any other gym, and the staff and members treat you like family!

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?

So far in my weight loss journey, I have lost twenty three pounds. It took me a little over one month. I am working on my new goal now, which is to lose an additional fifty pounds!

3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal?
Peak Physique has designed a meal program. If you follow it everyday, along with their boot camp and boxing classes, you will certainly lose the weight. One aspect about Peak that I love is the owners, coaches, and staff are there for you twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. If you need help, encouragement, and/or guidance all of the coaches and staff are available to help. In addition, you get weighed in and get your body mass index weekly. The coaches and staff are happy to meet with you to go over your goals and nutrition!

4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?

I go to Peak four to five times a week. I love the 5am and 6am classes! In order to lose the weight it is essential to attend class at least four days a week. There are plenty of times to attend classes so there are no excuses not to go!!!

5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why?
One of my favorite exercises to do is squat thrusts. I enjoy this exercise because it is challenging, but I know I can do it!

6) Have you had to deal with any injuries along the way?

I have not had to deal with any injuries. However, I have bad knees but the coaches modify exercises so you can complete them!

7) What did you change in your diet?

I completely cut out bread, pasta, sweets, and dairy. Now I drink the Herbalife shakes twice a day, as well as Herbalife’s iced teas. I also eat grilled chicken, vegetables, and protein bars. Before Peak, I would eat whatever was convenient because it was quick and easy. I used to never feel full after my meals and I would continue to make poor food choices. Now, I make sure to pack my shakes and bars in my lunch bag. I feel full, and I eat every two to three hours.

8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life?
For me, it was easy to manage this healthy lifestyle into my hectic schedule. I remind myself that I am worth it and if I don't take care of myself, who will? A one hour workout is only four percent of your day. When I am at Peak Physique, I am taking classes that make me a better version of myself. In addition, it is nice to have a gym community that shares the same fitness and nutrition goals as you. These are the friends that will keep you on track and motivate you daily!


9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?
My biggest struggle is temptation. When my family and friends are eating sugary sweets I would love to eat those as well. However, I pack my healthy snacks with me so I do not go off track. For example, when I was at a barbecue this summer and everyone had ice cream I brought my Oikos Triple Zero Chocolate yogurt. It was delicious and I felt great knowing I am making better choices for myself.

10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?
Words of encouragement motivate me to continue with this lifestyle. The coaches and staff at Peak celebrate your victories with you. It is a lot of hard work and dedication but it is an investment in your health!


11) What are your goals for the future?

My goals for the future is to lose an additional fifty pounds. Another goal of mine is to continue making myself a priority no matter how hectic my schedule gets with graduate school and work!

12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?

Believe in yourself!! You are capable of anything if you set goals. At Peak Physique the help of the coaches, staff, and other members will push you to be your absolute best self!
