Duo Rob Cabbie At Gunpoint In Nanuet

Clarkstown police are seeking two young men in connection with an armed robbery early Thursday morning.

NANUET, NY — Clarkstown police are searching for two men who robbed a taxi driver on Spring Brook Road early Thursday.

Police said the victim, 58, told them he picked up two men in Spring Valley who said their destination was Spring Brook Road.

When they got there, the suspects paid the fare. Then one displayed a handgun and demanded the cabbie's money, phone, tablet, and car keys.

One of the suspects hit the driver in the face and both ran away.

The cabbie called police at 5:20 a.m. He described the two as black males, 20 years of age, thin. One was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and the second, a black sweatshirt.

Patrol officers conducted a search of the area for people matching the description but did not find them. The Clarkstown Detective Bureau responded to process the scene and continue the investigation.
