Earthquake Reported in Rockland County

The US Geological Service recorded the tremor Friday afternoon.

NANUET, NY — The United States Geological Survey reports an earthquake occurred Friday one mile southwest of Nanuet. The quake took place at 3:22 p.m.

The quake wasn't far from the Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory, which reported it.

It was a magnitude 1.8, and it was 5 kilometers below the surface.
