Shelters are opening across Westchester County for residents affected by Hurricane Irene, with some open already.
“We’re encouraging anyone who is being evacuated and doesn’t have a place to go to take advantage of the shelters that are open around the county,” said County Executive Astorino. “The county is working collaboratively with our local municipalities and the Red Cross to ensure everyone has a safe place to stay. Don’t wait until it’s too late and travel has become unsafe.”
