Five Clarkstown Streets Picked For Operation Slow Down

Clarkstown Police Chief Michael Sullivan has released the five town streets that the police will be focusing on for "Operation Slow Down."  

• Brewery Road—New City
• Smith Street—Nanuet
• Lake Road from Route 303 to 9W—Valley Cottage
• Haverstraw Road—Congers
• Castle Heights and Broadway—Upper Nyack

Operation Slow Down, a public awareness and enforcement initiative against speeding and reckless drivers, was launched in February 2011. The purpose of the public safety program is to educate residents and raise awareness about the dangers of speeding and provide increased enforcement.  Through the year, different streets in Clarkstown have been selected for targeted enforcement, resulting in many drivers being ticketed.
