RCMEA Senior All-County 2012 Festival Concert

  • When/Where: Nanuet High School—Saturday, Feb 4 at 3 p.m. for Band & Women’s Chorus and 5 p.m. for Orchestra and Mixed Chorus
  • Why Go: Come out for a concert and support area high school students. After two days of rehearsal, these students put together a great concert to showcase their talents

  • Why Go: Trade in your potentially unsafe old and second-hand baby products and exchange them for savings on a new item during the “Great Trade-In” event

Justin Bieber Party

  • When/Where: 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3 in the Pearl River Public Library community room. 
  • Why Go: Students in grades six through 12 can join in games, trivia and food all related to Justin Bieber.

Mardi Gras with Mrs. Amabile

  • When/Where: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8 in the Pearl River Public Library community room. 
  • Why Go: For grades four through six. No need to go all the way to New Orleans. Celebrate Mardi Gras right in Pearl River with crafts games and food. 
  • Cost/Contact: Free, but bring one non-perishable food item to donate to a local food pantry. Registration is required and runs through 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3. Contact Pamela Gunning at  845-735-4084, x126  

Valentines for Veterans

  • Why Go: Let the little ones show their appreciation for military veterans by making then Valentines. For children in Kindergarten and older. The Valentines will be taken to the Veterans Administration for delivery. Those who make Valentines also get to make a treat for themselves at the chocolate fountain.

Indoor Farmers Market @ Piermont Pop Up

  • When/Where: Sunday, February 5, 10:00 am/530 Piermont Ave, Piermont
  • Why Go: Enjoy an environment with engaging art and an array of vendors with natural, organic and offerings with no preservatives

Team In Training Informational Meeting

  • When/Where:  Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10  to 11 a.m./New City Library, 220 N Main St, New City
  • Why Go:  Learn more about The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT), the world's largest endurance sports training program. Come to a no obligation Information Meeting to learn what we are all about. The meetings last less than an hour and provides you with information about TNT as well as an opportunity to meet coaches, coordinators, fundraising mentors and honored teammates. You can also register at a TNT Info Meeting and received a participant tool kit and training shirt to get started with training and fundraising!

Four Chaplins Service at United Church of Spring Valley

  • When/Where:  Sunday, Feb. 5 at 10 to 11:30 am/11 E Church St, Spring Valley, NY
  • Why Go:  The Rockland County American Legion will hold its annual interfaith Four Chaplains Service at United Church of Spring Valley.  The service commemorates the sacrifice made by four United States Army Chaplains - a Roman Catholic priest, a rabbi, a Reformed Church in America minister and a Methodist minister - and the other 672 men who lost their lives during World War II when their transport ship, the Dorchester, was torpedoed and sunk by a German U-boat.  The chaplains all gave up their own life jackets to save four soldiers.
