The countdown to the build date of the new Highview Playground is underway on Oct. 5-9. The last major fundraiser for the playground was a golf outing held Monday at Blue Hill Golf Course in Pearl River.
32 golfers came out and the weather was great. More showed up for the dinner reception afterwards where 50 gift baskets were raffled off.
Here’s what the golfers had to say of the event:

“We had great weather, the grass was green, the breeze was cool and no one got hurt,” said Hank Lennon, golfer and Nanuet resident who teed off for his kids alongside their two grandfathers and uncle. “I have three children in the (Nanuet) district.”
“20 years from now, you’ll be more disappointed with the things you didn’t do than the things you did do,” said Golfer Bill M. quoting Mark Twain. “We’ve got to make a difference. It’s about getting involved and doing something.”

“It’s a perfect day for golf on a terrific golf course and all for a good cause,” said Ralph Sabatini, golfer and Republican candidate for Clarkstown Supervisor.
“It was raw talent,” said Playground Steering Committee Member Sal Cimino, of his golfing. “It was a fun day and the weather was really nice. Good drinks, good times and even better friends to pass the time.”
