The Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) of Rockland County, Inc. is a 501(c) 3, non-profit membership organization with a mission to provide nurses the opportunity to unite as a group, to share and provide ideas of interest, and to become effectively involved with the issues and services relevant to the health and welfare of communities in Rockland County, NY and abroad
HANA will be celebrating its 9th Annual Scholarship Fundraising & Awards Gala on Saturday, September 23, at the Crown Plaza in Suffern, NY. This year’s theme is "Mind, Body, Spirit" which speaks to our commitment to care for our global communities in these three essential ways. The gala drew some of the most influential professionals, businesses and community leaders last year, and we are hoping to attract even more people this year. The HANA Gala is an opportunity to combine philanthropy with a little bit of fun. The HANA gala has become one of the premier events in Rockland County. The event which begins at 8:00 p.m. and starts with a
elegant cocktail hour in the rotunda with classical jazz and an island beat entertainment. While black-tie is optional, the formal to semi-formal attires add much elegance to the ambiance. The cocktail hour offers an opportunity to mingle with some of Rockland's most prominent leaders, professionals, and artists.
HANA fosters awareness and commitment to providing excellent nursing services. Additionally, the organization strives to increase the enrollment of nursing students through education and mentoring opportunities as well as creating community-networking opportunities for its members. HANA will continue to provide nursing scholarships for students in Rockland County and Haiti. Many of HANA’s projects and services over the past nine years focused on making a difference in the well-being of citizens in the United States and abroad. The volunteer nurses have provided complementary services to the Rockland community and abroad which includes but are not limited to: Community Health Fairs, Networking & Media Education, Health Focused Intervention, Emergency and Disaster Responses, International Medical Missions, Immunization Drives & Toy Drive, Continuing Education for Nurse, and Nursing Scholarships.
