Happenings in the Library

The new air conditioning unit is in place and the installers are getting it ready for the summer swelter. Please do stop by this summer on a hot day and feel your tax dollars at work.

The library has been moving with some other infrastructure updates that might not be apparent, but had to be done. The phone system was in dire need of upgrading so this contract has been signed and is in process. One of the roofs has to be replaced,so now that the snow is gone, this is being tended to.

While this was going on, the Library staff and trustees have been working with engineers on plans to reinvent the existing building to maximize the usage of the current space.

Finally: There is an election coming up on Tuesday, May 21st for the budget and the election of a new Library Trustee. Ellen, Kimmel, our current president has decided not to run for another term. Ellen, we will all miss the benefit of your experience in the meetings, and we all wish you well in all of your future endeavors.

The current candidates that are running are Anna Mihovics and Daniel Lombardo. They are invited to post to the blog to say a little about themselves and what they would like to share with the voters. We wish them both the best of luck in the election.
