Hi Tor Waives Adoption Fees for Current and Retired Military Personnel

A holiday thank-you to those who serve

POMONA, NY; Nov. 25, 2014 -- In this season of gratitude, Hi Tor Animal Shelter is thanking our current and retired military personnel by waiving its adoption fees.

From Friday, Nov. 28 - Tuesday, Dec. 30, the shelter will welcome the military community, allowing its members to adopt dogs, cats and rabbits free of charge.

“Our goal is to bring together our heroes with adoptable pets,” said Lizanne Fiorentino, president of Hi Tor’s Board. “We believe that the bonds of devotion and friendship between people and animals is incredibly healing. This is our way of acknowledging the men and women who serve our country.”

Prior to adoption, all of Hi Tor’s dogs, cats and rabbits are neutered/spayed and checked by a veterinarian. Additionally, all dogs and cats are vaccinated, and all dogs are micro-chipped.
