Highview Playground Build Seeks Food Sponsors & Volunteers

The Build Date is set for the Highview Community Playground Build. From Oct. 5 to 9, 2011, community volunteers will build this playground from dawn to dusk. But these volunteers need to eat.

The playground food committee is looking for companies and corporations to help by donating any kind of food, drink or supplies for the volunteers during the 5-day build. It's also looking for volunteers to collect, prepare and serve the food during the build days.

"We’re looking for donations of any kind—food and monetary—for the Highview Playground Build weekend," said Kathryn Purvis, food committee chair. "Corporate or local sponsors are welcome. This is a great cause so please help feed these community volunteers who are building this playground for kids of this generation and more to come."

Those looking to donate or volunteer, the next food committee meeting is tonight, Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Nanuet Mall food court on the second floor.

"We are looking for food donations, paper goods, money and actual volunteers. We'll appreciate whatever the vendors are able to supply," said Purvis. "We have to provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, beverages and snacks for five days."
