A new study finds New York has the No. 4 safest city in America and five in the top 101. All five are in the Hudson Valley.

SafeHome.org released the 101 Safest Cities in America Wednesday using 2018 FBI data from 13,366 law enforcement agencies of municipalities with populations of 50,000 or more.

All five of the locales on the national list aren't cities. But then, New York's esoteric categorization of municipalities — hamlets, villages, towns, cities and counties — isn't duplicated elsewhere.
