Identities Released in Ramapo Murder-Suicide

John Lord, 65, and his wife, Irene Lord, 63, have been identity as the couple who were killed in a murder-suicide Thursday morning, according to Ramapo police.

Lord shot and killed his wife in the bedroom of the couple’s home in Wesly Hills, and then he went to the back porch and called authorities to report the crime. He then shot himself when officers arrived, police said. He did not die immediately but perished en route to the hospital.

The Journal News reports that the couple did not have children and were well-known in their neighborhood, often seen out walking together with their dog.

“This is a tragedy,” Town Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence told The Journal News.
