Ounce of Pot Leads to Misdemeanor Charge for Spring Valley Man

He was stopped on the New York Thruway.

CLARKSTOWN, NY — A Spring Valley man faces a misdemeanor charge after state police found an ounce of marijuana in the trunk of his car. He was stopped at 9:56 p.m. Wednesday on I-87, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, a 34 - year-old was found to be in possession of approximately 28 grams of marijuana inside the trunk of the vehicle, was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Tarrytown where he was subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 5th Degree; a Class B Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violation.

He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Clarkstown Court on May 31.
