To the Editor:

I am writing to say thank you for at least for publishing interest in the public's opinion regarding the recent "State of Emergency" over a supposed Measles outbreak in Rockland County. Now we are down to 5 cases? Classic.

I am a mother of a then, vaccine injured son, A former Surgical Technologist and an advocate of human rights.

The same year the the H1N1 in 2007 - 2008 "scare" hit N.Y. our staff at Methodist Hospital was basically bullied one morning at our staff meeting into getting the prophylactic or that measures would be taken putting our position at risk. I was in my clinicals at the time but others were visibly scared. Do you want to know why? Because who better would know if there was really an epidemic then a hospital? We had not seen one case of the swine flu neither did any of our other sister hospitals nor did we know of anybody that had the swine flu. In a procedure the same day, they told me that they both didn't vaccinate themselves and their kids. A few months later my son began a series of strange illnesses resulting in hives all over his body and violent vomiting. The common culprit was a vaccine I spaced out that his school administered. Never again. I had him exempt and it was not easy. My son has not contracted or spread the Bubonic plague since. He is very healthy and thriving. The kids that are fully vaccinated in the family, have been chronically sick most their lives. It is that simple. Please know that the surge in awareness is a threat to stocks not our children's future. Let's focus on the integrity of our air, water and soil so that we can clear our minds of pathogens and imminent threats more sensibly.

Truly,
