Local Lacrosse Club Wins In World Police Fire Games Opening Round
Wide-range of events brings law enforcement officers together from around the globe.
The Hudson Valley Police Fire Lacrosse Club had an opening round win at the World Police Fire Games at Randall's Island in New York City on Tuesday, defeating the Capital Area Police Fire Squad, 9-5.
The Hudson Valley team was led by Erik Refvik of the White Plains Fire Deparmtent with three goals. Jack Egan, also from the White Plains FD, added two goals. Other scorers were Craig Tropp from the New York State Court Officers, Mynor Mazriegoes of the Drug Enforcement Agency, Matt Mansfield of the FDNY and Tom Ruane Newark Police Department.
Rockland players with assists were Brian Callinan, Joe Donnary, and Chris Kiernan all from the Clarkstown Police Department. Steve Trizano of the Yonkers Fire Department was solid in goal with 14 saves.

The Hudson Valley squad plays two games today against the FDNY Masters and the NYPD.
Also on the team from Rockland are Chris Maloney of the Clarkstown PD and Brian Sayre of the NYPD.
