Monsey Apartment Fire Considered Suspicious
Eight apartments were destroyed and many others damaged yesterday afternoon.

Eight apartments were destroyed and many others damaged by a Saturday afternoon fire in Monsey that officials are calling suspicious.
The blaze at the Regency Village Garden apartments on Robert Pitt Drive apparently started in a bedroom of a 1st-floor apartment.
Spring Valley Fire Chief Bob Johnson told The Journal News that about 100 firefighters fought the blaze, from departments including Spring Valley, Monsey, Hillcrest, Tallman and South Spring Valley.

The Red Cross helped more than 30 people with emergency housing.
About 200 people were displaced, News12.com reported.
