More Snow: Nanuet's Work Week Weather

There are a couple more chances for snow this week. We tell you when to expect it.

NANUET, NY — Keep the snow shovels at the ready this week. The next chances of accumulating snow for the Hudson Valley will be Monday night into Tuesday and again on Friday. An Alberta Clipper will not only be bringing frozen precipitation but also cold temperatures and wind chills.

“A strong arctic cold front will drop south through the Great Lakes and far interior Northeast [early this week], with snow showers and blinding squalls,” AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok said.

He said northern New England could get hit the hardest, but fortunately for the Hudson Valley the effects of the front won’t be as severe, with snow totals less than this past weekend.

Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said the storm will try to strengthen Monday night in its approach to the Hudson Valley, but so far it doesn’t look like a major system.

“There isn’t a lot of moisture associated with it, so even where we see all wet snow (mainly the Catskills), it’s likely a 2- to 4-inch snow event. For most of us in the Hudson Valley, it’s a coating- to 2-inch event… with possible 3-inch amounts as you get into the northern Hudson Valley (Kingston on north),” he said.
