“It’s been very slow,” said Michael Hussey, poll worker at Nanuet High School. “Primaries don’t get much action.”
Very slow indeed. By noon time, the Nanuet Library only saw about ten voters. However, over at the high school, they reported 73 voters by lunch time.

Patch stopped by a few polling places to see what voters had to say.
“It’s a nice day,” said Nanuet Voter Paschal Morahan. “I’m looking forward to new ideas, new faces and new energy.”

“I feel it’s my responsibility to vote,” Diane Sussman, who came out to vote at Nanuet High School. “It’s what makes America work.”
“There are so many issues that are so relevant today,” said Maryann Luisi, a Clarkstown voter. “It’s important to use our voice and that’s the way we do it by voting.”
“A lot of people passed away for that right,” said James Marin, whose father fought in the Korean War. “Every single time there’s something to vote for, I vote.”
“I always vote. I think it’s my duty,” said Marge Rogers of Stony Point, adding that she thought the sheriff’s race was critical. “I think that’s an important job.”
