Nanuet FD Extinguish Electrical Fire at Route 59 Business

The Nanuet Fire Department responded to a fire at 1:46 p.m. Tuesday at Marburn Curtains Warehouse on Route 59 in Nanuet.

The fire started in the electrical closet room, said Nanuet FD Chief AJ Knapp.     

“The main panel burned up,” he said, adding that they had to wait for Orange and Rockland Utilities to come shut off power first before they could put out the fire.

Clarkstown Police and Nanuet Ambulance Corps were on scene, but there were no major injuries. West Nyack and Pearl River fire departments helped with the fire while Spring Valley FD stood by with additional assistance.
