Nanuet Man Accused of Stealing $80,000 from Elderly Couple

D.A.: Personal banker befriended victims, used ATM card to access funds.

A Nanuet man who is a personal banker has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury in New City on allegations that he befriended an elderly couple and then stole more than $80,000 from them.

said Anthony Giannattasio, 26, of 551 Avalon Gardens Drive, Nanuet, is charged with second-dgree grand larceny. Giannattasio is accused of obtaining an ATM card for the elderly couple's Chase bank account and withdrawing a total of $82,560.

The theft took place between April and September 2011, Zugibe said.
