Nanuet Principal Reassigned After Sex Allegations

A teacher has told the school board she intends to sue, according to The Journal News.

NANUET, NY — The Nanuet Board of Education has removed Nanuet High School Principal Vincent Carella from his post, The Journal News reports. A teacher has accused him of rape and sexual harassment. The teacher filed a notice of claim against the district — a legal document warning that a lawsuit is about to be filed.

Vincent Carella, 64, has been the principal for almost two decades, TJN reported. He is a Nanuet resident.

The teacher, 50, alleged Carella began harassing her in 2003, seeking sex and offering to do favors such as modifying her teaching schedule, TJN reported.
