Nanuet Rotary Welcomes Four New Members
Their special membership meeting was this past Thursday
Scholarships, community clean-ups, local fundraisers. These are some of the many charities the Nanuet Rotary spearheads. Made up of local business owners and community leaders, this organization just held a special membership meeting to swear in four new members:
- Tony Romeo III, Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor
- John Sharples, Nanuet business owner
- Anthony Giannico, home inspector
- Colleen Quinn, Quinn Commercial Properties
“I’m excited to be here today,” said Romeo. “I’m looking forward to the future. Let the games begin.”
“It feels really good to be accepted into this group,” said Sharples. “I’m proud to be a member.”

““I’m very excited to be here, very excited,” said Giannico.
“I’m very happy to be a Rotarian because when I was a little girl, I went to their events and always wanted to be one back then,” said Quinn. “It’s very important to help promote and strengthen the community we live in.”

Bunnee Webb, District Governor adviser, inducted the four new members.
Webb runs the district's Rotary leadership Institute for the district and is the Polio Plus Chair for the district.
"I'm very and truely honored to have been invited to welcome the new rotary members," she said. "This is a first for me, not inducting a new member, but a meeting in which there was more than one new member, much less four. Wear that Rotary pin and wear it with pride. "
There were 31 people total at the lunch meeting, including a visiting Rotarian.
“I grew up in Nanuet,” said Dan Nelson. “I’m visiting from Pearl River Rotary.”
These members have a special connection with Nanuet in one way or another. Many of them graduated from Nanuet High School and here are their graduation years:
- 98
- 79
- 78
- 74
- 68
- 66
“We didn’t have a high school,” said Don Liebert. “I graduated from the eighth grade in ‘43 and then I went to Pearl River.”
