Nanuet School Calendar 2021-22: First Day Of School

NANUET, NY — Before you know it, the 2021-22 school year will be starting. The first day of classes for the Nanuet school district is Friday, Sept. 10.

Whether or not you and your children are looking forward to the new school year, you will want to write down the dates in your calendar as soon as possible.

Here is the full list of dates to know for the 2021-22 school year:

• 9/10 Schools open
• 9/16 Yom Kippur

• 10/8 Superintendent conference day
• 10/11 Columbus Day

• 11/2 Half-day for students; staff development day
• 11/11 Veterans Day
• 11/24 Half-day for students
• 11/25-26 Thanksgiving Recess

• 12/24-31 Holiday Recess

• 1/3 Schools Reopen
• 1/17 Martin Luther King Jr. Day

• 2/21-25 Winter Recess

March

• 3/18 Superintendent's conference day

• 4/11-15 Spring Recess

• 5/30 Memorial Day

• 6/20 Juneteenth (observed)
• 6/23,24 Half day for students
• 6/24 Last day for students

Weather make-up dates to be taken in the following order, if necessary:

Three snow days are built into the school calendar in the event schools must be closed for hazardous conditions or inclement weather. If closings exceed three days before Mid-Winter recess, the following will be used as school days in this order: Friday, February 25, Thursday, February 24, Wednesday, February 23. Any additional days and order of days to be determined by the Superintendent. The District will not consider travel costs as a reason to approve personal days if emergency conditions restore days to the school calendar.
