This was a busy week for Nanuet volleyball. They won a match on Monday against East Ramapo. On Wednesday, they faced off against North Rockland in a tough match but North Rockland ultimately prevailed. Today’s match against Suffern was their third and final of the week.
Discussing the team’s performance this week, Coach Adams said, “This team is different every day. They fought hard against North Rockland on Wednesday. I don’t know what happened today.”
Coach Adams and team held a meeting immediately following the match to discuss their performance. Emerging from the meeting, team captains Victoria Serra, Caitlin Lenihan, and Ashley Toussaint were ready to move forward.
“Next week we play teams in our league, on our level,” said Serra.
“It’s over. It’s a new day," said Lenihan. "We need to focus.”
Suffern Coach Sean Barnes praised both teams.
“Nanuet is a very good team, very scrappy,” he said.
With regard to his own team, he said, “This is my sixth year as varsity coach. They’ve come a long way. We’ve been to section finals four years in a row.”
Nanuet travels to Clarkstown North High School for its next match against the Clarkstown North Rams this coming Tuesday, Sept. 20.
