New Details on Nor'easter: Nanuet's Weekend Weather
Then damaging winds and at higher elevations, possibly snowflakes, could be our Mothers Day surprise around Rockland County.

NANUET, NY — Our Mothers Day weekend nor'easter will begin early in the morning with showers, changing to steady rain by noon. Steady rain in the afternoon could be heavy at times, particularly in the southern part of the Hudson Valley. The rain should diminish in the evening, ending around midnight.
But when the storm moves northeast, the space will be filled with a cold front from Canada with blustery winds, showers, even some thunderstorms and —
"Should enough chilly air be manufactured by the storm, it is not out of the question for wet snowflakes to mix with the rain over the higher elevations of New York and New England during the second half of the weekend," said Renee Duff, AccuWeather meteorologist. "The winds could be strong enough to cause tree and power line damage and sporadic power outages."

The good news is that the chance for flash floods is apparently diminishing.
"Earlier data was suggesting a heavy, soaking rain… with widespread rainfall totals between 1 and 3 inches," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "Over the last 24 hours, some of our guidance is suggesting that there is a bit less moisture to work with in our area. While it doesn’t change the forecast in terms of a soggy Saturday… it does have ramifications for our flooding concerns."
