The meeting is 9 a.m. Monday, April 18 at the county legislature—11 New Hempstead, New City.
After narrowing down the proposed redistricting maps to Option “A” April 11, the final proposed map was submitted Friday to the Rockland County Legislature’s Special Committee on Redistricting.
There were slight changes made in the proposed map between April 11, when it is was chosen over the Option “C” map, and April 15, when it was submitted to the legislature.
An open meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, April 18 at the county legislature—11 New Hempstead in New City—to update, review and adopt multiple formats of the proposed redistricting plan approved by the Special Committee at its April 11 meeting, according to a press release from the county legislature. This additional meeting will ensure that the redistricting plan is in accordance with the census data and issues related to census changes and ensure that the total deviation does not exceed 3 percent.

“There have been slight changes made to the redistricting plan and the meeting this Monday is to show the legislators and the public what those changes are,” said Bob Jackson, District 14 legislator. “I know the meeting is at a difficult time for many people, but I do encourage concerned Nanuet residents to try and make this meeting.”
The changes made to Nanuet include moving the dividing line separating Districts 14 (purple) and 9 (yellow) west, from S. Middletown Road/Main Street to Grandview Avenue. Nanuet is also now in four districts rather than three. The fourth added district is District 10 (green).
