Check here for live results on Election Night.
Races for state offices dominate this election season, with candidates seeking to represent Clarkstown and Orangetown in the state legislature; and two Hudson Valley residents, Andrew Cuomo and Rob Astorino, vying for the job of New York governor.
Other races to watch:
- Native son Chris Day has mounted a challenge on behalf of the GOP against long-time incumbent U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey for the 17th Congressional District, which now includes all of Rockland County.
- At the county level, there’s a race for the District 5 seat on the County Legislature, between Barry S. Kantrowitz (D,I), and Lon M. Hofstein (R,C,WF).
Voters will also choose ‘yea’ or ‘nay’ on three statewide propositions—one of which could bring millions in state money to Rockland school districts.

The first two are amendments to the New York State Constitution.
The first would revise how election districts are redrawn after every Census. The second would allow the legislature to distribute electronic, not paper, copies of pending bills.

The third proposition asks voters to OK a $2 billion bond for education. Mostly for school technology, the money could also be used for constructing and modernizing facilities and installing high-tech security.
Nanuet could receive more than $600,000, New City $2.8 million, Nyack more than $900,000, and Pearl River almost $900,000, according to the state formula.
Locally, there are uncontested elections for village trustee in both Nyack and Piermont.
Also voters must choose between Rolf Thorsen (D, WF, I, C) and Michael Koplen(R) for County Court Judge.
