NYS Counter-Terrorism Safety Detail Dec. 10 in Rockland
The Palisades mall in West Nyack will have an informational patrol; train station and vehicle checks will also take place.

Counter Terrorism Zone 4, which includes law enforcement agencies from Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties, will deploy its Counter Terrorism Action Teams to shopping areas and train stations throughout the three county region on Thursday.
This is not in response to any threats. The goals of the detail include educating the public about the importance of being aware of their surroundings and reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement.
The Dec. 10 deployment will be accomplished by local law enforcement officers assigned to a CTAT, who will engage the public at local malls and train stations. The officers will discuss terrorist related indicators with shoppers and distribute “See Something Say Something” flyers. Specialized law enforcement officers will also be conducting commercial vehicle checks. The effort will involve 60 law enforcement personnel from 20 agencies.
