Oct. 5-9: Highview Playground in Urgent Need of Volunteers

You can volunteer for as little or as long as you like

Build it and they will come. However, the playground needs to be built first. After almost a year of fundraising, the Highview Playground is almost ready to be built. However, contrary to a common misconception, the playground will not be built by the design company, Leathers and Associates. The playground is going to be built soley by community volunteers.

"We have many open shifts left for you to volunteer your time to build this
amazing playground. There are only six days left until we build the Highview Community Playground!" said Nancy MacRobbie, chair of the volunteer committee. "This is probably the biggest thing to hit the Nanuet community in 20 years. Were you there 20 years ago for the original build? We would love to have you back again along with new faces. We will build this playground from Oct. 5 to 9 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. by volunteers only."

MacRobbie is looking for people of all skill levels with any time they can spare. Volunteers will be fed lunch and dinner and there will be day care available for those with kids (potty-trained ones only please).

"Children ages 10-13 can be on the build site if accompanied by an adult and ages 14-18 can work alone without power tools," said MacRobbie. "Catch this once in a life time opportunity before it is too late!"

Whether you are a carpenter, can only wield a hammer or neither, please go to Highviewplayground.com to sign up ASAP. There's a task for everyone from kids to senior citizens. If you have any questions please call Nancy the Volunteer Chair at 845-642-4435.
