Officers Give Very Ill Kids, Families Fun Day In Rockland

Krucker's Camp Grounds will be the site and city, state, county and local police departments are all pitching in.

Sheriff Louis Falco III announces that on Monday July 15 th from 11:00am to 4:00pm, law enforcement entities will join forces to provide a fun and entertaining day for children and families going through serious medical treatments. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) will provide buses to transport the children and their families to this event, on the grounds of Krucker’s Camp Grounds, located at 113 Call Hollow Road in Pomona.

The buses will receive a police escort from the NYPD, the New York State Police and the Sheriff’s Office, along with the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police and the Orangetown, Clarkstown, Haverstraw and Ramapo Police. When the buses arrive in Pomona the children will enjoy a barbecue, entertainment, water slides, bouncy houses and much more.

Additionally, law enforcement personnel will display specialty equipment such as the county helicopter, the mounted unit, police cars, several police canines and more.

Sheriff Falco says, “Most of these children are battling major illnesses, many of them life threatening. For one day they get to take a break from fighting and can enjoy the day. Tomorrow they go back to the city to continue their treatment.”
